The necessary amount to help former political prisoner Kanstantsin Zalatykh, whose health problems became known recently, has already been collected, the Solidarity Foundation «Bysol» reported . The fundraiser closed much faster than expected, and donations even exceeded what was needed.
The declared fundraising amount was 4500 euros, and there are now 6872 euros in the account.
Now Kanstantsin Zalatykh's family will be able to pay for housing and other expenses for several months while he undergoes treatment.
The family of the former director of the independent newspaper «Belarusy i Rynak» left Belarus immediately after his arrest and cannot return.
After his imprisonment, during a medical examination, Kanstantsin Zalatykh was diagnosed with kidney cancer. In addition, he has other health problems.
