"Geranium-5" drones, which Russia uses to attack Ukraine, now reach speeds of 1000 km/h
Russian jet-powered attack drones "Geranium-5" can develop speeds up to 1000 km/h. This was stated on October 29 in Kyiv by Serhiy "Flash" Beskrestnov, an advisor to the President of Ukraine on defense technologies, during a conversation with journalists, writes UNIAN.

According to "Flash", such indicators were recorded during the maneuvering of Russian drones. He emphasized that Ukraine needs to outpace Russia in technological confrontation.
Beskrestnov noted that the Russian side has significant engineering and scientific resources. According to him, tens of thousands of highly qualified engineers work at the enterprise in Alabuga, as well as many young specialists from various regions of Russia, who are engaged in the development of technologies used against Ukraine.
Previously, Russia used "Geranium-3" drones, which had a speed of about 280-300 km/h. Later, Russian forces switched to faster modifications, which forced Ukrainian developers to look for new ways to intercept such targets.
Beskrestnov emphasized that developing a fast drone is only part of the task. It is much more difficult to create a serial model that will be easy to use. Ukrainian manufacturers have already demonstrated jet interceptor drones but have faced problems with control systems, guidance, automatic target acquisition, and establishing mass production.
Meanwhile, according to Ukrainian intelligence, Russia is building a new launch site for drones near the Millerovo military airfield in Rostov Oblast, which borders the temporarily occupied part of Luhansk Oblast.
The configuration of the object, identified in satellite images, indicates that it is designed for the preparation and launch of jet-powered attack drones. It is believed that "Geranium-4", "Geranium-5", and their modifications could be launched from there.
According to preliminary estimates, after construction is completed, the site will be able to provide up to 100 launches per day. However, the actual intensity of its use will depend on the supply of drones, the availability of fuel and warheads, the number of trained crews, the serviceability of equipment, and the tasks set by the Russian command.
