A net for catching birds was installed in a shopping center near Minsk. Visitors raised the alarm
A special net for catching birds was installed in the "Yarky" shopping center in the Minsk district. With the onset of cold weather, birds fly into the premises in search of warmth. This sparked discussion on social networks: users claimed that birds get trapped and die, writes the publication pristalica.by.

The shopping center administration explained that birds in the retail areas create inconvenience for visitors, and their presence there can also be harmful to the birds themselves. Therefore, this year, they decided to use a special net. According to administration representatives, birds that get caught in it are immediately freed and released into the wild.
On October 29, the shopping center was visited by specialists from the Minsk District Inspectorate of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, as well as the Zonal Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology.
The inspection found no violations of environmental legislation on the part of the shopping center administration. Information about birds dying due to entanglement in the nets was not confirmed. Birds found in the net structures were promptly released into their natural environment.
At the same time, the presence of sparrows, pigeons, and other birds in the retail areas of supermarkets and shops in Belarus is considered a serious violation of sanitary standards. Birds can carry infectious diseases and contaminate food products.
Ruslan Kitov, Head of the Minsk District Inspectorate of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, announced that an official letter will be sent to the administration of "Yarky" demanding that a set of measures be taken to prevent birds from entering the shopping center's territory and its structures.
