Minsk resident wanted to remove a curse, but ended up losing money, jewelry, and a phone
A resident of the Pervomaisky district in Minsk contacted the Pervomaisky District Department of Internal Affairs, becoming a victim of a fraudster posing as a fortune-teller. The police promptly detained a 43-year-old woman, who worked in one of the capital's organizations and had been previously prosecuted multiple times for property crimes.

As it turned out, the detainee met the victim near one of Minsk's shopping centers. She gained the woman's trust, and then scared her with stories about a supposed curse on her. The fraudster offered to help get rid of it.
The trusting Minsk resident handed over 900 rubles and her jewelry to the "fortune-teller" in several installments, which the latter was supposedly going to "cleanse". To maintain communication with her "helper," the victim even gave her mobile phone along with the SIM card registered in her name.
However, the detainee used the received money and valuables for personal gain. A criminal case has been initiated on the fact of fraud.
