Since mid-2026, Minsk polyclinics have been using artificial intelligence in a test mode for automatic analysis of lung fluorographic images. Neural networks help detect even minor pathological changes and process a large number of images in a short time, the Minsk City Executive Committee reported .

The analysis of one image takes only about 60 seconds. Artificial intelligence works in the background and helps medical professionals reduce the volume of routine work when deciphering the results of X-ray examinations.
As explained by Yuri Horbich, Chairman of the Health Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee, most preventive examinations do not reveal deviations from the norm. Therefore, the main task of neural networks is to draw doctors' attention to possible pathological changes that require additional verification.
At the same time, artificial intelligence acts exclusively as an assistant: the final conclusion and decision are made by a qualified doctor.
In the future, similar technologies are planned to be implemented in all regions of Belarus. This is expected to increase the accuracy of diagnosis and the effectiveness of mass screenings.
