An Australian went fishing after training and pulled out a real "golden fish"
26-year-old Australian Matthew Morris accidentally won a million Australian dollars (about 623 thousand euros) by catching a fish with a special tag. He was fishing with his younger brother near the city of Darwin after football training when an 80-centimeter barramundi got on his hook, Bild reports .

It turned out that the fish was participating in the annual Million Dollar Fish competition. As part of it, organizers release barramundi with special tags into the waters of Australia's Northern Territory. Cash prizes are provided for catching them.
This season, 101 prize fish were released: for 100 of them, one can receive 10 thousand Australian dollars (about 6240 euros), and for one – the main prize of a million. It was precisely this fish that Morris caught. He became the second winner to receive the main prize in the 12 years the competition has existed.
The Chief Minister of the Northern Territory, Lia Finocchiaro, personally informed the fisherman about the win. Upon hearing the news, the man burst into tears of happiness and immediately called his mother. He plans to use the money to buy a house, pay off debts, and for personal needs.
