Brother of Belarusian 'Miss Universe' died in Azerbaijan — after falling from a height he fought for his life for almost five months
Dmitry Chichikov was awaited at home by his wife and two young children — his younger daughter was born less than a month ago. Unfortunately, Dmitry never saw her.

Dmitry Chichikov is the brother of Aliaksandra Chichikava, winner of the 'Miss Wheelchair World' contest in 2017.
The man went to Azerbaijan for work as an industrial climber. This September, his wife Katsiaryna reported on social media that her husband was in critical condition in a hospital in Baku. This was due to an accident that occurred with Dmitry on June 20: an aerial work platform — a vehicle with a lifting arm and a basket — overturned.
“He and his partner fell from a height of 18 meters; his partner died. Dima survived and is now in critical condition — he needs treatment and rehabilitation, especially since he is in another country,” Katsiaryna said on Instagram.

According to his wife, Dmitry's condition at that time was assessed as stably critical. He had brain damage and underwent three head surgeries: “The doctors did everything possible to stabilize his condition, and now we just have to wait. Dima regains consciousness, reacts to his name, but mostly sleeps.”
She asked for financial help for the family — and many Belarusians responded.
Today Katsiaryna shared the sad news in her stories: “Almost five months of fighting for his life… Today my Dima is gone forever. I will always love him…”

The Belarusian man was 39 years old. Dmitry is survived by two young daughters. His elder daughter, Vasilisa, is only two years old. The father never got to see his younger daughter, Vera — she was born less than a month ago.
